Lorikeet in Banksia on Iluka Avenue

Iluka Avenue in Manly is lined with healthy Banksias, their branches covered in wonderful large blooms that attract the local lorikeets. On a Sunday afternoon stroll towards Manly Beach, I passed two lorikeets feeding among the flowers of one of these streetside Banksias. The afternoon sun illuminated the foliage and picked out the vivid colours of the birds and blooms, while the salty air carried the sound of waves crashing on the beach in the background. 103cm x 123cm, Acrylic on Canvas.
